Policies and procedures

To comply with legislative requirements, Navitas at UMass Dartmouth has a number of policies and procedures in place. These policies and procedures include privacy, academic misconduct, academic probation and dismissal, and examination process.

Privacy Act

Navitas at UMass Dartmouth is bound by the Privacy Act which regulates the way private sector organizations can collect, use and disclose personal information.

Code of Conduct

The Code of Student Conduct provides a framework of standard acceptable behaviour for students. Students are responsible for understanding and complying with this Code. The Code of Student Conduct is available on the Navitas at UMass Dartmouth website.

All students studying at Navitas at UMass Dartmouth have the right to be treated with respect and courtesy by Navitas at UMass Dartmouth staff and fellow students in an environment free from harassment and conducive to learning.

Grievance procedures, appeals or complaints

Navitas at UMass Dartmouth has policies and procedures for dealing with student complaints, grievances and appeals in a constructive and timely manner.

Access and equity

Navitas at UMass Dartmouth is committed to equal opportunity for all students to ensure that no student who has met the specified academic and English language entry requirements is denied access to a program and that no student, once enrolled in a course, is disadvantaged.

All Navitas at UMass Dartmouth staff, both academic and administrative, are responsible for ensuring that any student with disabilities is treated with dignity and courtesy, and given every opportunity to reach their full educational potential.

Credit transfer

Credit transfer may be given to students who have completed an equivalent course of study at accredited institutions of higher education where the grade received was not lower than the minimum requirement. Some additional requirements may apply. Application for credit transfer must be included when submitting an application.
